ADCv3 Load Balancer Upgrade - 2024 Q2.2 Software Release Summary Load Balancer Upgrade - 2024 Q2.2 Release Summary This document provides a high-level overview of the upcoming Application Delivery Controller version 3 (ADCv3) Q2.0 2024 load balancer software release. This software release introduces new features and improvements to enhance security, performance, functionality and also addresses security vulnerabilities.

New Features 1. TLS 1.3 Support TLS 1.3 can now be enabled by our support team, providing improved security and performance for your HTTPS connections.

2. Enhanced Port Security We’ve implemented more granular control over ports exposed to match your service subscription, improving security by ensuring ports are only open for applicable services that you have subscribed to.

3. Improved High Availability for Hermes A new watcher service has been implemented to enhance the reliability and failover capabilities of our Hermes service.

4. GeoIP Header GeoIP headers are now enabled by default, providing geographic information about client requests. This feature can be disabled if needed.

Enhancements 1. ECDSA Certificate Support ECDSA-based wildcard certificates are now configured by default, offering improved security and performance for TLS connections.

2. Faster Software Updates We’ve optimized the process for updating software images, reducing potential downtime during upgrades.

3. Improved Error Messaging Enhanced error messages for better troubleshooting and clarity during operations.

4. NGINX Upgrade

We've upgraded NGINX from version R25 to R31. This upgrade includes significant improvements in security, scalability, and performance, including enhancements like faster startup times for the Ingress Controller and optimized QUIC+HTTP/3 support.

Bug Fixes Various bug fixes and improvements have been made to our management tools and configuration processes.

Important Notes If you’re using custom TLS cipher configurations, you may need to update your settings to take full advantage of ECDSA support.
