Issue 1: Install button is unavailable for a dependency app upgrade Symptom You are notified of an available update to one of your Now Assist applications. The new version is visible in the Application Manager, but the Install button is unavailable and the following warning appears: This app can only be installed as a dependency Cause All dependency apps in the Now Assist dependency tree use the install_as_dependency flag to prevent standalone installs. The intent was to manage net-new customer installs through the root apps, but the flag is more restrictive than needed for upgrade scenarios where the root app did not change. Example scenarios The instance is running the November release on Vancouver Patch 4. A higher version of UXC Generative AI (December release) is available. When you try to install it, the button is unavailable. The instance is upgraded to Washington DC Patch 0 and installs the latest Now Assist for ITSM. Three weeks later, a new version of Generative AI Controller is available. When you try to install it in the Application Manager, the button is unavailable. Resolution A change to remove this restriction is planned for the Application Manager starting in Vancouver Patch 8 and Washington DC Patch 1. Until then, open a Support case for further assistance. Issue 2: A new dependent plugin blocks a Now Assist app upgrade Symptom When you try to upgrade your root Now Assist app to the latest release in the Application Manager, a warning appears next to one of the dependent applications: Needs to be purchased from Store Cause New apps are regularly added to the Now Assist dependency tree. You must accept the Terms and Conditions in the Store before you gain entitlement to a new app. Example scenario The instance is running the November release on Vancouver Patch 4. After upgrading the instance to Vancouver Patch 7, you try to install the February release of Now Assist for ITSM. The February release introduced new apps, such as Now Assist in Virtual Agent Designer and Aleph Alpha Spoke. Resolution Go to the Store Generative AI Landing Page.Select your root Now Assist app.Select Get to reinitiate auto-procurement.
