Employee Center Portal Navigation for Topic Pages To begin, confirm the proper configuration of the topic table indexed source in AI Search. All > AI Search > AI Search Index > Indexed Sources.

If not present create a new indexed source for the [topic] table. After the source has been created a new field mapping can be added to support search result UI rendering. In the “Field Settings & Mapping” related list of the Topic Pages indexed source, add a new record to map the title to name using the “map_to” attribute. add a second record to map the description to the text field. The recommendation is to map both title and text for each indexed source to support OOTB UI rendering. Add this new indexed source to the Employee Center Portal search profile configuration.

After the field mappings have been added the table will need to be fully reindexed

Moving to the display and click action configuration. Open the ESC Portal Search Bundle, which can be found in the ESC Portal Search EVAM Definition. Create a new view configuration called Topic Page.

In the declarative action link the existing OOTB ‘navigation’ action.

From there the search results action needs to be created. AI Search > Service Portal > AI Search > Search Results Actions. This will link the search result and the navigation action. Set short description and the remaining configuration options as illustrated in the image below.

With this configuration in place navigate to the Employee Center Portal page to test the click navigation action performs correctly.

Note on security:

By default tables like topic may not allow read access, as a workaround, a read ACL such as topic.none might be needed for most users to get the results to show up in the search results list.
