Alert Not Generated From National Weather Service Crisis ManagementIssue After the event of a tornado near a company office, no alert is present on the GRC Crisis Management crisis feed on the Business Continuity Workspace.CauseOn review, we found there was no default radius defined from the alert rule. In instances where GDAC does not include a radius when creating the record, the alert rule will not fire because the impacted region may not contain the office within the bounds of the default radius. ServiceNow defaults the radius value to 50k meters when one is not provided, this would have to be updated from the sn_fam.default_feed_impact_radius system property. To check how the radius is evaluated and the default values are applied, it could be seen in the FAMCommonUtil script include.ResolutionOur suggestion is to increase the default radius to a larger zone meeting your business needs. This could be done by creating the sn_fam.default_feed_impact_radius system property with the steps below: 1. From the filter navigator, navigate to sys_properties.list > New 2. Name: sn_fam.default_feed_impact_radius, Type: integer 3. Set the value field in meters to the desired radius.
