What is Certification? When you publish your application from your vendor instance to the ServiceNow Store, the app and its Store listing are evaluated by the certification team. Certification ensures that the app introduces the least amount of risk into the customer instance as possible and that the Store listing is accurate and adheres to branding guidelines. Certification has two tracks: App reviewListing review App review When you submit an app for review, you will be asked to provide the following documentation: Design Document (for certification team only)Test Plan with results (for certification team only)Installation Guide (customer facing) The certification team will inspect: The security and performance of the appPlatform stability and user experienceThe installation processThe app’s architecture to ensure ServiceNow best practices have been followed Listing review In addition to submitting the app itself for review, you will also provide the Store listing, which consists of marketing documentation, demo videos, and other resources provided to advertise the app on the ServiceNow Store. The certification team will inspect the listing for AccuracyAdherence to branding guidelines How long does Certification of my application take? Certification, from design complete and submission for certification to ready for publishing on the store, typically requires 3-5 weeks. It is very possible to complete certification in a matter of days; likewise, it may take longer than 5 weeks. How long the process requires depends on the following variables: Size, scope, and complexity of your applicationHow well you documented your architecture in your Design Documentation (a required document for the process)How quickly your team can iterate with the certification team implementing any changes the team requiresYour marketing team's ability to create compelling descriptions, artwork, and any other collateral you wish to use to show off your app Where can I see my app’s progress through the certification process? You can follow the progress of your app from the Certify tab in the Store Publisher Portal. Note the separate tracks for the App Review and the Listing Review. What is the minimum I need to get something certified? To list an application on the store, the application should have minimum files such as application menu, contact support module and a working use case. Any app that doesn’t have any code or any business logic is not recommended by certification team. When do I need to recertify my app?
