To check SPF: Go to MX Toolbox at https://mxtoolbox.com/spf.aspx and check if the SPF record is correct. Domain Name: Use customer's domain from the failed email, i.e. company.com IP (Optional): Use any ServiceNow mail server IP such as 149.96.5.2 or the IP of the server from the Splunk logs. The page will show the SPF record as green for correct configuration or red for incorrect configuration Please note that third party systems may choose to reject incoming email even though SPF is configured correctly. This is outside ServiceNow control as as the evaluation is done by the third party. In such cases, setting up DKIM solves the issue (see Resolution section). Follow Enabling email delivery using SPF records to allow SN mail servers to add SN servers to their SPF record so that the instance can send email as <anything>@<theirdomain> 2. Follow Requesting Public key for DKIM custom domain via Service Catalog on Now Support to generate DKIM keys so that the instance can send email as <anything>@<theirdomain> and pass DMARC checks. Option 2: Change the instance configuration to use an SMTP account from the customer's own email servers instead of the ServiceNow email servers. When using the customer's own servers, all outgoing email will pass through their servers and will be subject to their configuration and policies. Option 3: Change the instance configuration to the default <instancename>@service-now.com as the From address for outgoing emails. Our email servers are correctly configured for both SPF and DKIM and will not fail DMARC checks.
