Externally linked images are broken in KB ArticleIssue If an author has created a knowledge article linking images to external files which were not attached, these images can display as broken icons over time, if the external hosting is no longer reachable. This can occur especially when the original author is no longer an active user on the instance.CauseThe broken images in the KB articles were all pointing to various external URL links.Trying to reach those URLs directly gives a 403 error, thus the images will not display in the article.ResolutionIt is not always possible to retrieve the missing images again just editing the article if the original author can not provide access to them, or can not upload them as attachments. The best practice to prevent this issue occurring is to utilize the "Insert/Edit Image" button available in the Tiny MCE HTML Editor (sightseeing icon highlighted below), and upload the images for articles as attachments. This will ensure the images get stored directly into the ServiceNow instance database, so they will not be reliant on any external hosting being available.
