If Polaris is turned on, legacy (core ui) URLs will be intercepted and transformed to uxf URLs. 6. What is Polaris App Shell? Polaris app shell is an application shell built from the extension of UXR base app shell. It is a macroponent that takes care of binding canvas layout to sn-polaris-layout components during runtime. It also defines polaris header logo and user access settings databrokers mapping as well. 7. Can Unified Navigation App shell be used to create a new UX Experience for UIB? No. Users can create pages that are navigated with Unified Navigation App Shell or experiences derived from the UXR Base Experience Shell, which Unified Navigation App Shell is also derived from or other OOB App Shells. How can I go to Next Experience home page from any other page, like how we had the option earlier. Self Service -> Home page? ITILValue - falseClick Submit So, now when ITIL Users log-in, ITIL User will have UI16 view instead of Next Experience. Next Experience Default Landing Page Questions 1. How can I change my default landing page? Set your desired page in System property - glide.login.home which would be applicable to all users unless users have their own selected page. 2. Can I modify the OOB default landing page? OOB Default landing page can not be modified. It's maint enabled. But you can copy it and customize it as per you're requirements. Please follow the steps:- Type "UI Builder" in Filter Navigator.Choose "Unified Navigation App" experience.You see "Unified navigation landing page" on the sidebar, Please click on copy and customize as per your requirement. Note:- This new page will not get updates automatically as its customized page. 3. Next experience Default landing page is not coming for certain users? Please check whether the user has any homepage/dashboard set as per their user preference. 4. What are the system properties involved with the Landing page? glide.login.home should have respective page setup else blank for the default landing page. glide.ui.polaris.experience should be set to true. Banner Announcement Questions 1. When is a banner announcement active? When the start time is less than the current time and has either an empty end date or an end date in the future. 2. How can a banner announcement be displayed in the Unified Navigation experience? By associating an active banner announcement to the “Unified Navigation” banner announcement configuration record. 3. How is the color of the banner announcement options changed? Associating a different theme to the experience defines different colors for those color variables. 4. What happens when a new active announcement is associated for a user that has already loaded the UI? Banner announcements support real-time updates, so banner UI will show the new banner in real-time. 5. Can the real-time behavior for banner announcements be turned off? Yes, by setting the system property to false. 6. Can the banner announcement for unified navigation be deleted? No, it cannot be deleted as the sysId of that record is associated with the Unified navigation app shell. Are banner announcements domains separated? Some customers may need to have domain-specific Announcements 7. Are banner announcements domains separated? Yes, Banners are domain separated. 8. Is there any option to use scripted criteria on Announcements for complex requirements? No, it is not possible. 9. Can I apply query business rules on top of the announcements table, will it work? Yes, you can apply. 10. Can announcements be added to the Login pages? If so, how? Announcements can be used on the login page. It requires to meet the following criteria before it shows up. First, the login page needs to be using the Unified Navigation App shell. Secondly, when the announcement is being configured it needs to be configured where anybody can see the announcement. There is a drop-down menu where you can configure announcements that will be visible to whom? 11. How do the real-time announcements work? does it utilize amb? of so, how? Real-time announcements are leveraging AMB. We added listeners to all our banner announcements tables. If a new operation is performed on the tables then AMB will catch the new operation and try to determine if this is an announcement we need to display ASAP or it can wait to be picked up by the 30-minute window. AMB would decide based on business logic rules written at the server-side. 12. Can announcements be used outside Next Experience UI? If so where? Currently, you can only see announcements in the Unified Navigation App shell. In future releases, we are planning to add it to other app shells. 13. If an announcement is dismissed, How does the system know it is dismissed? Where Is this stored? When an announcement is dismissed, that dismissed announcement is stored in local storage. Local storage is cleanup once the user sessions has expired or when the user has logout. 14. Can a user somehow see the Announcements again If they accidentally dismissed it? There are several ways to see the announcement again if it has been accidentally dismissed. The first way is for a user to log out and re-login. The second way is to start your browser in private mode. The third way is to clear your browser's local storage and refresh. 15. Is it possible to dismiss all announcements in one go? No, it's not possible. Next Experience Theme related questions 1. Can I export my UI16 themes to Next Experience themes? No, it's not possible to do so. You can not use Ui16 themes in Next Experience and you can not use Next experience themes to UI16. 2. I don't see Dark theme as an option in my User preference. Please make sure glide.ui.polaris.dark_themes_enabled is set to true then only These user preferences will be enabled and you can see two options, one as default and the second as Dark. 3. How can the new Next Experience login page be customized? Please refer to the documentation Additional System properties for login theme changes. 4. How can I disable Polaris for a single page? Use the table sys_page_theme to allow/deny Polarisberg for any page. Add a record like this: Type: PageName: some_page_name (no / or .do)Action: denyCustomer: false 5. Please follow the below steps:- Go to sys_ux_style table and create a new recordSelect Type VariantIn the Style field, copy-paste the content from existing Style for ex. Dark.
