How to delete an application from the Application Repository on the GCC Federal ServiceNow NetworkSummaryWhile many ServiceNow users may know the steps to publish an application to the private company repository, a more rare but still potentially operation is to delete such an application from the company application repository. This process, as used by our Federal customer is also somewhat different than would be used in our commercial environment, by our commercial company customers. The following information will detail the steps which can be used to thus permanently delete an application from a customer's Federal Repository. There are a few requisites for deleting an application from the Application Repository: In order for an application can be deleted (or flagged for deletion) in the Application Repository, it must not be installed on any instances (production or sub-production) as associated to that company. If the application is installed on any instance, it cannot be deleted from the instance. Thus, before deleting the application from the repository, it must first be uninstalled from every instance associated to the company.Due to the permanent nature of a delete operation, an application can only be deleted from the Federal Application Repository by a user who is listed, in the HiWave system as the Primary Customer Administrator for that account. In the commercial (Support) environment, users would normally log into the commercial apprepo site to perform necessary actions. However, in attempting to log directly into the Federal equivalent of the application repository site (https://fedappstore.servicenowservices.com/), users will usually be displayed a warning message indicating they must instead access the repository from within HiWave, similar to the following: ReleaseAll customers as found in the Federal GCC environment.InstructionsThus, the following steps can be used to delete an application in the ServiceNow Federal application repository (providing the application and the logged in user fulfill the criteria as mentioned above): 1. Log into your HiWave account (https://hiwave.servicenowservices.com/) with an account currently set as the primary customer admin for it's associated company account. 2. When first logging into the HiWave system, a blue banner message will be noticed at the top of the page. Do not dimiss this banner message. 3. Click the URL link as found in that banner message that reads For more details click here. 4. This should then log the user into the ServiceNow Application repository site (using the same credentials as is used for HiWave). This is also the same site which is used to request and manage your ServiceNow Federal Store applications. 5. Once the ServiceNow Federal Store site opens, click the icon showing the initials of the logged in person, which will then display a pull-down sub-menu. 6. From this sub-menu, select the option titled My App Repository. This will then display the Application Repository interface and should show a list of all published custom applications currently associated with the account. 7. Locate the application in the list that you intend to delete and select the Select Action pull-down menu to the right of the Application name (under the Actions list header). 8. From the pop-up menu that appears upon selecting Selection Action, select the option titled Flag For Deletion. 9. A confirmation box will appear regarding to Flagging the application for deletion. Select the Yes button to continue with the requested operation. This will then mark this particular application for deletion. The actual deletion will occur 90 days after this action was selected. This is such that a previously flagged application can thus be recovered if deemed it should not have been deleted (within 90 days). However, to permanently and immediately delete an application, the following additional steps can be performed: 1. After previously, having Flagged an application for deletion, and having already logged into the Application Repository site, click the tab on the Repository site labeled Flagged Apps. 2. A list of applications which have been previously flagged will be displayed. Locate the application in the list that you want to permanently and immediately delete and click the Action button. 3. From the pop-up menu that appears, select the option titled Delete Immediately. The application will then be permanently deleted from the Application Repository. This same menu can also be used to unflag the application for deletion (moving it back to the list of current Applications associated to the account). Note that once an application has been deleted from the repository (either after 90 days from selecting the "Flag for deletion" option or using the "Delete Immediately" option from the Flagged Apps menu, the application cannot be recovered.Related LinksThe steps above are specifically for deletion of an application from the Federal Application, but similar steps can be used for the commercial Application repository, such as found at the following URL: Delete an application from the application repository
