If you check the Dynamic Filter Options record "Default Change Type," you will see that the Script field is set to "ChangeModel.getDefaultTypeValue()".That means it is calling the function getDefaultTypeValue() in the Script Include "ChangeModel".As the Script Include "ChangeModel" extends the Script Include "ChangeModelSNC", the Dynamic Filter Options record "Default Change Type" is actually calling the function getDefaultTypeValue() in the Script Include "ChangeModelSNC".We introduced the fields "Use dynamic default" and "Dynamic default value" for the case where an upgraded customer chooses to uptake Change Models and this ensures the default value is set accordingly.Resolution<!-- /*NS Branding Styles*/ --> .ns-kb-css-body-editor-container { p { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } span { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } h2 { font-size: 24pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h3 { font-size: 18pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h4 { font-size: 14pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } a { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718F); } a:hover { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #024F69); } a:target { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #032D42); } a:visited { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718f); } ul { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } li { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } img { display: ; max-width: ; width: ; height: ; } } If you do not wish to use these fields and would like to uncheck the "Use dynamic default" field, then in the future, if you move to Change Models you should remember to undo the change you have made. There is another solution if you do not wish to use the fields "Use dynamic default" and "Dynamic default value". Instead of unchecking the "Use dynamic default" field, you could override the function getDefaultTypeValue() in the Script Include "ChangeModelSNC" by adding the function with a new implementation to the Script Include "ChangeModel". The Script Include "ChangeModel" is editable for customers and is provided so that behaviors can be tailored for the customer. On line 12 of the Script Include "ChangeModel", we have currently defined the following code:ChangeModel.getDefaultTypeValue = ChangeModelSNC.getDefaultTypeValue; You can change this line so that it looks like the following instead:ChangeModel.getDefaultTypeValue = function() {var typeCompatibility = gs.getProperty(ChangeRequestSNC.TYPE_COMPATIBILITY, "false") === "true";// Change the "normal" value to the desired default valuereturn (typeCompatibility) ? "normal" : "";};This is an alternative solution so that you do not have to uncheck the "Use dynamic default" field and can still set "normal" as the desired default value for the Type field on the change_request table. In conclusion, if you use the fields "Use dynamic default" and "Dynamic default value", then you could choose to uptake Change Models, which ensures the default value is set accordingly. It is okay for you to not use the fields and there is no impact for doing this. You could either manually uncheck the "Use dynamic default" field so that you can specify the default value manually, or use the alternative solution without unchecking the "Use dynamic default" field.
