Inbound email flow cannot update an HR case when the sender email is not registered in the instance with error "Unable to access target record"Issue <!-- /*NS Branding Styles*/ --> .ns-kb-css-body-editor-container { p { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } span { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } h2 { font-size: 24pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h3 { font-size: 18pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h4 { font-size: 14pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } a { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718F); } a:hover { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #024F69); } a:target { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #032D42); } a:visited { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718f); } ul { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } li { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } img { display: ; max-width: ; width: ; height: ; } } If an inbound email flow has been created to update an HR case, this works when the sender email is registered in the instance, but fails when the sender emails is not recognized as a user. The email log will show a message like: Trigger xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx: Unable to access target record for table name sn_hr_core_case, skipping. However, inbound email flows always run as the sender of the inbound email. If the system does not recognize the sender, inbound email flows will run as the Guest user. The actions of inbound email flows are limited by user ACL restrictions. To test access controls for an inbound email flow, impersonate a typical inbound email user and manually trigger the flow. The workaround would be to redesign the flow, so that the trigger can run, and then add a sub-flow which runs as system performing the desired actions on the HR Case.
