PDF document viewer is not working in ServiceNow to display Japanese characters


Description

PDF document viewer is not working in ServiceNow to display Japanese characters . When you try to open any attachment which has complete Japanese characters in document viewer from any record of any tables, the PDF just opens with blank data. Japanese characters are not visible.



 

 

Steps to Reproduce

i) Attach any PDF which is in Japanese language to any record on any table

ii) Enable the document viewer on the table

iii) Open the record and go to attachments . View the attachment 

iV) The PDF opens in document viewer with blank data

V) Download the attachment from the record onto your local desktop and view the PDF again from the same Adobe software. We could see the data.

Workaround

This issue will be fixed in the next San Diego version.
As a workaround at this stage, we recommend to download the file and then view the contents of the file instead of opening it in a Document Viewer.
