<h2>Discovery is creating multiple entries for same IPs in "Devices" tab for different classifications</h2><br/><div style="overflow-x:auto"><article><div ><h3 >Issue </h3><section><ul><li>Discovery is creating multiple entries for same IPs in "Devices" tab for different classifications<br /><br /><img src="/sys_attachment.do?sys_id=111ece10db8074102dc24f781396191d" width="1101" height="236" /><br /></li></ul></section></div><div ><h3 >Release</h3><section><ul><li>Quebec</li></ul></section></div><div ><h3 >Resolution</h3><section><ul><li>This hapens due to the inclusion of the multiple probes under the "<em><strong>Trigger Probes</strong></em>" list of a particluar Port Probe like below<br /><br /><img src="/sys_attachment.do?sys_id=2bee02d0db8074102dc24f7813961907" width="1041" height="519" /><br /><br /></li><li>This is a new feature implemented from <em><strong>Quebec, </strong></em>to give users more clarity on which classification probe actually discovered the device.<em><strong><br /><br /></strong></em></li><li>This "Trigger Probes" links a port probe to a classification probe, with an active flag on each of the probes to either enable or disable it.<br /><br /></li><li>Here, from the above screenshot, it can be seen that there are two classification probes triggered for <em><strong>ssh.<br /><br /></strong></em></li><li>So, the discovery procedure would work as follows,<br /> <ul><li>After Shazzam, the two classification probes are launched simultaneously on the IP address.<br /><br /></li><li>For the two classification probes launched, two seperate evice history records will be created, one for each.<br /></li></ul> </li><li>Once the discovery is completed, you would be seeing the entries for all the types of classifications triggered during discovery as below<br /><br /><img src="/sys_attachment.do?sys_id=111ece10db8074102dc24f781396191d" width="1101" height="236" /><br /><br /></li><li>You can always choose to disable the flag from the "Trigger Probes" on that particluar port probe, if you wish any probe added is irrelavant.<br /><br /> <ul><li>For example, setting the flag to "false" on the classification probe "Interactive Probe Shell" under "<em><strong>ssh</strong></em>" and discovering the IP would just display the entry for "<em><strong>Unix - Classify</strong></em>" under the "<strong>Devices</strong>" tab of a discovery.<br /><br /><img src="/sys_attachment.do?sys_id=88645e90dbc074102dc24f7813961905" width="1079" height="531" /><br /><br /><img src="/sys_attachment.do?sys_id=69a4d2d0dbc074102dc24f78139619ee" width="1084" height="147" /><br /></li></ul> </li></ul></section></div></article></div>
