In some scenarios it may correctly record the 'Update number'. However, in the rare scenario where the update happens at the exact same time, then it will not be unusual for these to be recorded in the same update. Please ensure that concurrent updates are not being applied to the record since this is known to cause unexpected behaviour. Instead, there should be at least a small delay between the updates.
