<h2>CI Name for Windows servers is flapping whenever discovery runs</h2><br/><div style="overflow-x:auto"><article><div ><h3 >Description</h3><section><ul><li>CI Name for Windows servers is flapping whenever discovery runs</li></ul></section></div><div ><h3 >Release or Environment</h3><section><ul><li>All</li></ul></section></div><div ><h3 >Resolution</h3><section><ul><li>Open the CI record and navigate to the history list to verify the CI name updates for that record.<br /><br /></li><li>If it is confirmed that the CI name is getting changed to different values, then navigate to the "discovery_device_history" table.<br /><br /></li><li> From the "discovery_device_history" table, search for the CI name with issue.<br /><br /></li><li>It can be observed from the search that multiple IP addresses will be updated with the same CI name from the list (though the present CI name is different on those IPs)<br /><br /></li><li>Open a couple of records from the list and observe that all of them match at Serial Number and Serial Number Type.<br /><br /></li><li>This is working as expected with respect to Discovery and IRE procedures.<br /><br /></li><li>Now, it has to be verified at the device level configuration on why multiple IPs are pointing to the same CI which led to this issue.</li></ul></section></div></article></div>
