How to set up Schedules and regional specific Holidays for for users to account for Capacity based on User's TimeZone/RegionIssue When creating Capacity for Resource Users, a schedule is an important factor. Based on the complexity of users and timezones being considered, set of such a system may require specific configuration. This KB article looks at best practice when considering a global schedule that remains consistent, however, provides users specific Holiday child schedule consideration, based on their timezone/regional holidays.ReleaseOrlando+CauseIn order to compensate for a global schedule that has child schedules specific to the region, I will use three Regions/Timezone concepts as examples: US, Germany, Japan. In short, a main schedule is still required, and then for each region/timezone, you will need to create a regional main schedule and a regional holiday schedule (child schedule entry). ALL Schedules will need to be Type=Floating. For each regional Main Schedule, you can copy the exact schedule entries as in the original main. Once completed, each schedule will need to be added to the proper User's 'Schedule' related list (via the EDIT action). Example: 1. Project Management Schedule2. Project Management Schedule - Japan (Floating) (schedule entries should match the main Project management schedule)--> Child Entry (Floating): Japanese Holidays3. Project Management Schedule - US (Floating) (schedule entries should match the main Project management schedule)--> Child Entry (Floating): US Holidays4. Project Management Schedule - Germany (Floating) (schedule entries should match the main Project management schedule)--> Child Entry (Floating): German HolidaysResolutionCreate Regional MAIN Schedules that mimic the original 'Project Management Schedule' w/ schedule entries (8-12, 1-5)*defaultFor each Regional MAIN Schedule, add the appropriate child schedule (specific holidays)For each applicable resource user, add the correct Regional MAIN schedule to their User record (via Resource Manager view). This SHOULD be added via the bottom Related List, not the 'Schedule' field.
