Tenable.io Integration Error when Importing Info (severity) Open Vulnerabilities Description The platform has a hardcoded value of 32 MB for the String object and it is not customizable via any system property. Ref. Server side scripting is failing with Error "String object would exceed maximum permitted size of 33554432" .

If the payload size exceeds 32 MB, some integration processes may fail with the "String object would exceed maximum permitted size of 33554432" error. This error has been observed when [Tenable.io Open Vulnerabilities Integration] imports include vulnerabilities with all types of severities: info, low, medium, high, critical.

Steps to Reproduce

1- Open VR Setup Assistant.

2- Navigate to the Tenable.io configuration settings from the Scanner integrations section.

3- In the Vulnerabilities import configuration section, select all severity levels.

Workaround The 32 MB limit can not be avoided due to the current design requiring to parse the JSON before saving it as attachment. After carefully considering the severity and frequency of the issue, and the cost and risk of attempting a fix, it has been decided to not address this issue in any current or near future releases. We do not make this decision lightly, and we apologise for any inconvenience.
