Open the Discovery log for the failed Discovery run and locate the serial number associated with the affected CI.Navigate to All > Configuration > Serial Numbers to open the Serial Number [cmdb_serial_number] table.Search for the serial number identified in step 1.Confirm whether two or more records exist with the same serial number and serial number type.If duplicate records are found, retain the record associated with the correct CI and delete the other record.Run Discovery again for the affected CI and confirm that the pattern completes without errors. Note: If duplicate records reappear after subsequent Discovery runs, review the identification rules for the affected CI class in CI Class Manager. Verify that the identification criteria are specific enough to prevent the IRE from creating duplicate serial number entries. For general guidance on troubleshooting duplicate CI records, see How to troubleshoot duplicate CMDB CI records (KB0869861).
