Indicator tasks not generated due to duplicate number range conflictIssue <!-- /*NS Branding Styles*/ --> .ns-kb-css-body-editor-container { p { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } span { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } h2 { font-size: 24pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h3 { font-size: 18pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h4 { font-size: 14pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } a { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718F); } a:hover { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #024F69); } a:target { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #032D42); } a:visited { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718f); } ul { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } li { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } img { display: ; max-width: ; width: ; height: ; } } When an indicator is executed manually, new indicator tasks are not generated. This occurs because the IDT number series in the sys_number table has a current number value that falls within a range already occupied by existing indicator task records. When the system attempts to allocate the next number and that number already exists, it cannot save the new indicator task. The origin of the existing records in the occupied range is undetermined. If records already exist in the system whose numbers fall within the range the series is currently set to allocate from, the system cannot save new indicator tasks due to the duplicate number conflict. This can occur when records were imported or created outside of the normal number allocation process. Resolution<!-- /*NS Branding Styles*/ --> .ns-kb-css-body-editor-container { p { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } span { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, #000000); } h2 { font-size: 24pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h3 { font-size: 18pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } h4 { font-size: 14pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--text-primary, black); } a { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718F); } a:hover { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #024F69); } a:target { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #032D42); } a:visited { font-size: 12pt; color: var(--now-color--link-primary, #00718f); } ul { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } li { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Lato; } img { display: ; max-width: ; width: ; height: ; } } The sys_number table controls the number series for indicator tasks (IDT prefix). When the next number in the series is already in use, new indicator tasks cannot be saved. Advance the current number value to a range that has no existing records. 1.Navigate to the sys_number table. 2.Locate the record for the IDT number series. Filter or search for the row where the prefix is IDT. 3.Review the Number field on the record. Confirm its current value falls within a range that already has existing indicator task records. 4.Update the Number field to a value that is outside the occupied range — for example, advancing to a significantly higher block ensures no conflict with existing records. 5.Save the record. 6.Manually execute an indicator and confirm that a new indicator task is generated successfully with a number from the updated range. If indicator tasks are still not generated after resolving the number conflict, verify that the scheduled job named GRC indicator nightly run is active. Navigate to sysauto_list.do?sysparm_query=nameSTARTSWITHGRC indicator nightly run on your instance and confirm the active flag is set to true. Additionally, indicator task creation may be stopped if the number of open indicator tasks meets or exceeds the limit configured in the system property sn_grc.max_open_indicator_tasks; if that threshold is reached, a notification is sent to users with the sn_grc.manager role.
