Application/Plugin Deprecation ProcessApplications/plugins determined by ServiceNow to be at the end-of-life and end-of-support stage will go through two deprecation phases: Planned and unplanned. This article outlines the differences of each and provides information about what to expect when applications/plugins are deprecated. Phase 1: Planned Deprecation The Planned Deprecation phase, as described above, allows time for customers to prepare for the upcoming deprecation. Customers shall continue to be able to access features for the affected application/plugin, and such application/plugin will continue to be fully supported during this time. The intent of this phase is to no longer activate the application/plugin and drive net new adoption to a replacement technology. The application/plugin will be hidden resulting in the inability to self-activate. All customers with an active subscription for the plugin will still be entitled to activate and should submit a plugin activation request. If the application/plugin is already active in the customer's instance, it will remain active including when upgrading to a new Now Platform release. Note: Customers with entitlement and usage of the application/plugin that has entered the planned deprecation phase will receive a notification. The notification will be distributed to the company's contact list. To ensure communications are received, please keep company contacts up-to-date. Notification will typically be distributed no later than two Now Platform releases that ServiceNow makes generally available to its customers prior to the deprecation date. Phase 2: Deprecated Once the application/plugin is deemed "deprecated" by ServiceNow it enters the deprecation state ("Deprecation State") as described above and will no longer be deployed, enhanced, upgraded, improved, or supported. The application/plugin will remain active in the customer's instance during the Deprecation State however, it will be considered custom code and ServiceNow Technical Support Team will no longer be obligated to provide any services for it, including but not limited to the customer or technical support, maintenance patches, and/or bug fixes.
