Email scripts doesn't populate the dot walking field values in outbound emailsIssue Use Notification Email Scripts to print Notification message content from a server-side script. Although Notification Email Scripts are application files, they must be created in the main ServiceNow browser window and not in Studio. Use the Application Navigator to open System Notification > Email > Notification Email Scripts. Click the New button to create the Notification Email Script. This KB talks about a scenario where the email scripts doesn't populate the data from dot walking fields CauseThe email scripts used in this scenario are imported from a successful working instance through update sets into another instance after which the issue surfaced on the target instance. Preview notification works on the target instance where the update set is loaded but when the Notification is triggered , the dot walking variables in the email scripts are not pulled from the tables and shows as empty values in the received email body for the end user Formatting issues are most likely the cause of the problemResolutionExport/Import of the scripts from working to a non working machine will resolve the issue. Follow the below steps to execute this export/import - Disable the email script on non-working instance - Export the same mail script from a working instance to XML - Import the XML back to non-working instance - Trigger the Notification and the dot walking variables should be populated without issues on the non-working instance( Target instance) Note: The solution is just a one-off and may not be applicable for all the environments. There can be multiple solutions based on the nature of the same problem on different environments
