Discovery creates duplicate records in each discovery schedule.


Description

When running discovery for a CI the discovery completes successfully.

When ran discovery for the next time on the same CI, instead of updating existing CI  Discovery is creating a new CI.

Discovery log shows below error in the second discovery run.

Resolution

In order to fix the issue, please follow below steps.

  1. Open System properties table (sys_properties.LIST)
  2. Add a new property with below details
             Name : glide.discovery.use_cmdb_identifiers
             Value :true
  3.  Run discovery for the server and check the status. Discovery will be updating the existing CI. 
  4.  Once discovery is completed, the new identifiers can be seen in the discovery log.
