Performance Slow Due to "ASYNC: Discovery - MultiPage Sensors " jobsIssue Slow performance across instance. All activities in the instance are very slow and taking a long time. ReleaseAllCauseMany "ASYNC: Discovery - MultiPage Sensors " jobs running around the time frame though all the nodes. Most nodes have memory contention, which caused slowness. There is no indication of a PRB in this case: The threads are just consuming that much memory because of all the data they need to hold. ResolutionEMC Isilon pattern discovery is generating 150+ multipage payloads during discovery, which means that the Async - Discovery sensor jobs running at a given time is high. This causes memory issues which leads to performance problems. What needs to be done is to review discovery information, identify the ones that are causing an issue and try several approaches. For example: stagger the jobs, discover less per job ,schedule it off-hours/weekend, etc.We identified the Isilon IP ranges generating 150+ multipage payloads during discovery1. The suggestion is to split these IP ranges into different schedules and run each separately with in a different time frame. For example: Create an individual schedule for each Ip range and run it over the weekend with 3 hrs time gap between each schedule.
