A good example of a default Project schedule that would be outside of the schedule would be the weekend. If you were to set your Planned start and end date values to the weekend, even if they were different by a few hours, on update, the Planned end date value will snap to the Planned start date value, making a Planned duration of 0. When planned start and end dates fall outside those hours, the system cannot calculate a valid duration. As a result, the planned end date snaps to the planned start date, producing a duration of zero and triggering the milestone conversion. This is expected platform behavior. Navigate to the project task you want to update.2. Scroll to the Details section.3. Select Allow dates outside schedule.4. Save the record.5. Set your planned start and end dates to the desired values outside the schedule.6. Save the record. The planned end date no longer snaps to the planned start date, and the duration calculates correctly.
