Catalog task related list record opens new record by default on Service Portal Requested Item record.
1. Log into Service Portal
2. Search for the catalog item "Access" and submit a request
3. Open the generated requested item with the form "id" or after generating the requested item, replace the ticket view URL from:
<instancename>/sp?id=ticket&table=sc_req_item&sys_id=sys_id_of _your geneated _req_item&view=sp
<instancename>/sp?id=form&table=sc_req_item&sys_id=sys_id_of _your geneated _req_item&view=sp
4. Scroll down to "Related List"
5. Click on the Catalog task record in related list
Notice that a new record is rendered in the right pane
