Issues with some of the knowledge Articles when the Author is changedIssue There are several Knowledge articles in the system for which we have changed the Author. But after changing the Author of the article the new Author does not see the check out and publish buttons on the Article.ResolutionThis behavior is seen because the previous version of the article was initially set to 'Retired'. Currently, we do not have any out of box options from creating new versions of a record when it is retired. The best option here is to create a brand new article and copy the contents over. This is documented at the link in the Additional Information section. By forcing an updated to the Retired version and setting it to Outdated, the behavior will be resolved. When using article versioning the Outdated choice is used when a new version of the article exists. As the code checks for this, the 'Checkout' button did not appear for users until this was updated to 'Outdated'. Moving forward this can be avoided by creating a new article rather than updating an article in Retired state.
