This change to the list control is done after the installation of the 'Knowledge Blocks' plugin which in turn installs the 'Knowledge Management Advanced' plugin. Resolution The behavior seen is expected because of the modified List control for the related list. To view the buttons again, right click on the related list header and go to Configure->List Control. There you can uncheck the Omit New and Omit Edit button checkboxes and save the list control record.
