Steps to Reproduce

Create a new Update Set and mark it as your current set. Navigate to: Service Catalog > Catalog Definition > Maintain Items Open any active item. Click on the ' Try it ' UI Action in the upper right corner of the record. Navigate back to your in-progress Update Set and notice that an update record has been captured. Workaround This is expected behavior and by design in the current releases.
