Experiencing issues when querying cmdb_ci.discovery_source = 'duplicate'DescriptionUsers are not able to Filter or Query on the 'cmdb_ci.discovery_field' where the choice selected is 'Duplicate'Release or EnvironmentKingston, London, MadridCauseOut of the box, duplicate Configuration (CI) Items are detected by the Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE). The oldest of the duplicates is picked as the Main CI, while all other duplicates are tagged as duplicates. IRE facilitates this by setting the 'cmdb_ci.discovery_source' field to 'Duplicate'. 'cmdb_ci.discovery_source' is a choice field. By default 'Duplicate' is not a choice on the 'cmdb_ci.discovery_source' field. Since 'Duplicate' is not a choice, there is no underlying value, and users cannot Filter or Query on this invalid choice.ResolutionThis is fixed in the New York release. From New York onward, duplicate CIs will now be tracked via a new column 'cmdb_ci.duplicate_of', where the reference is the oldest of the duplicates. Upon upgrade, the records with 'discovery_source = duplicate' will be migrated to the new format.
