Email notification shows HTML tags and markup in sent email Issue  Email Notification body shows HTML tags in the outbound emails when html content is used in message_text field on the Notification record:

Cause A notification body consists of the two fields: message_text message_html

Any characters entered into the message_text field are considered as literal text characters. Entering HTML markup in message_text means you want to display the markup as characters. HTML code which you want rendered as HTML must be put into the message_html field to be displayed and rendered as HTML.

Resolution Any HTML markup, or any mail script written which writes the HTML markup in the message must be inside the message_html field.
