How to create discovery mapIssue Discovery map which is used to map (connect) Software model with Software discovery model is not getting created. it should be created as per the software product, version, edition and platform. The requirement is to create discovery map When discovery tries to discover a device, it updates it based on the name which is getting updated as same for all devices due to Out-of-the-box regex expression. This article will demonstrate on the investigations and probable use cases, hence in future, if similar requirement occurs, then this can be considered. Procedure Discovery Maps are neither created Manually nor from Discovery.The Discovery Map records come pre-populated in the samp_sw_entitlement_definition table as part of the SAMP plugin subscription.Most of the records that we see in the system are created as part of demo data when the plugin was activated and others were created and updated upon plugin upgrades.They are maintained/updated by ServiceNow. ResolutionAny custom product created on ServiceNow instance can be seen under software Installation as well as Discovery Model however while adding entitlements, Discovery Maps cannot be located.In such cases, one can manually define Discovery Map Parameters on Discovery Mapping tab of the software model table.Below screenshot shows one such example where, attribute values for Version Condition, Edition Condition, Platform, Language are set manually.
