Under projects, choose a Project Click on planning Console Choose a Task -> Click on Indent on top Menu (->) Error - Permission Denied to Perform the Action on TOP Cause Parent Field is checked to Read Only.

Parent Field Dictionary override attribute Read-Only is true.

Resolution There is a parent field dictionary override - Go to this URL or dictionary override for pm_project_task for "Parent" Field

You have to customize it to override Parent Read-Only Field."Override read-only" should be CHECKED and make sure the "Read Only" checkbox is UNCHECKED.

*Option 2: UNCHECK Read-Only from the Parent Field Dictionary (Revert to Base) - this will make the change to all tables that extend task so this will affect all tables that extend task.
