How to find out what users are searching in Service Portal to improve the meta tags and overall search efficiency ?



Sometimes administrators would like to know what search terms their users are searching in order to find a Knowledge article or a catalog item so that meta tags could be provided for those records thus making the search mechanism effective and efficient.


  1. Go to application navigator in your instance and type service portal
  2. There would be a module named Log Entries.
  3. In the type column enter search
  4. Order by the count and these are the most popular terms among the users for searching.

These logs would give information only about what was search through portal /sp and not the global or catalog search.
