Cause Multiple updates are happening from workflow.

Resolution Open the workflow context for your record that has multiple updates in audit logs. Open the record that has the issue Click 'Show Workflow' UI action to see the workflow context of the record From workflow context record open Click on Show Workflow UI action again Look to see if there are many "Run Script" activities after the Timer. If yes that means you have Run script for the workflow activity and there is current.update() in the script Run Script activity automatically updates the current record.
