Hover text containing special characters like ' adds a \ before the character if the text is modified by a Security Rule
On a field, if the hover text contains a special character like a an apostrophe symbol and if the field cannot be modified based on a Security rule, the system adds a forward slash \ before the special character, and some text saying security prevents from writing into this field.
Steps to Reproduce
- Login as administrator.
- Open an Incident form.
- Configure the label of any field, for example the Knowledge checkbox on the Closure information section.
- Modify the help text such that it contains a character like ' in it.
- Add a security rule to prevent writing into the field by any ITIL users.
- Impersonate any ITIL user and try to write into the field. Observe the hover text appearing contains a forward slash before the special character '.
After carefully considering the severity and frequency of the issue, and the cost and risk of attempting a fix, it has been decided to not address this issue in any current or near future releases. We do not make these decisions lightly, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
