Navigate to Service Catalog > Catalog Definitions > Maintain category.

Create two categories with the same title and catalog. (This example uses "test.")

On the instance homepage, click the "+" symbol at the top left corner (Add Content).

Select Catalog Categories in the first column and search the second column for the name of the category you created.

Note that only one of the new categories is displayed.

Workaround Do not create catalog categories with same name and catalog.
